Magazine Cover Reflection

The Photoshop project was pretty fun. I came up with the idea to make a Phillies Sports Illustrated cover because I felt like it would look the coolest and they deserved it. The Phillies are my favorite team so it was easy for me to visualize what I wanted to say and put into the cover. I chose the title “core duo” because Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are the two players who hold the offense together. Batting 3^rd and 4^th, they are the toughest duo in sports. To start the project, I added in the Sports Illustrated title. With the title in place I was able to picture what images I wanted and where. I chose to copy edit pictures of Howard and Utley hitting home runs. After erasing and cutting the parts of the pictures I didn’t want, I was able to add in a background cover, a picture of a night game at Citizens Bank Park. The picture of The Bank allowed me to add in other pictures of Utley and Howard, this time holding the World Series trophy. I faded the opacity on these two pictures to give the cover the effect of the success the players have had over the years. After that I added in the text layers and finished the project.

First Blog

1. La Salle is a great school to be at. Our sports teams are really good and we have won 5 state championships since 2007. Our academics are top notch. We have state of the art computers and the teachers make it easy to learn the material. Our course catalog is filled with interesting classes where everyone can find a class that suits them best.

2. I took multimedia productions class because I thought it would be a cool way to learn about video editing producing. This class has really cool features to work with and also has the best equipment available to help get the best results with projects etc.

3. I would say that my goal for this course would be to be able to upload video and edit them better than I could before. I never really learned how to do this and many occasions had come up where I needed this skill and didn't have it so this class can help add new experience.

4. I could improve WEXP with multimedia by creating my own video that could be of use to some students when they watch the program. Video like sports news or anything else that could make something easier for another student would be the category of videos I think I am capable of making for WEXP.
